I noticed the interesting colors, and also thought about expanding my reportoire of digital manipulation skills this afternoon. The first thing I did was to scan all of the leaves and create a jpg file. I then changed the colors to make them brighter. I erased all of the white background, and saved it as another file. I then made a rubber stamp image and turned it into a negative, giving it an impression of being stamped with white ink. I came up with my own composition, and I found this digital process to be valuable for decision-making and "prototyping" artwork before executing the actual design on the canvas, gessoboard, or even journal page. This digital version of "sketching" would help me avoid wasting any artist materials and precious time on poorly executed designs. Although the same results above can be done with Adobe Photoshop, I used Microsoft PhotoDraw as it is easier for me to learn and experiment. Soon, I will start using Photoshop for more sophisticated digital work. &rew http://www.blogger.com/profile/00091737078501203562 noreply@blogger.com
